United States of America, TNI Commander Admiral TNI Yudo Margono began his series of working visits to the United States of America (US) by visiting the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) office to meet Embassy staff and stay in touch with a number of TNI officers who are currently pursuing military education in America.
The working visit of the TNI Commander is in the framework of fulfilling the invitation of the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS) or the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces General Mark A. Milley to the TNI Commander, taking place in Washington DC, Wednesday (21/6/2023).
In his meeting with General Milley at the Pentagon, United States of America, the TNI Commander discussed various opportunities to increase the professionalism of the TNI through various types of military cooperation in the fields of training, education, visits between officials and exchange of information which have been very well established so far between the armed forces. both countries.
Cooperation between armed forces also aims to maintain security stability in the SCS (South China Sea) region, especially the ASEAN region. The TNI Commander also met with the Assistant US Secretary of Defense for Asia Pacific and East Asia, Dr. Ely Ratner.
This step is one of the efforts to continuously improve the quality and capability of the TNI as a modern, professional and resilient Indonesian military force in carrying out its main task of maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
On the sidelines of his brief visit, the TNI Commander also took the time to have discussions with TNI students in America and provide advice and directions as well as some developments in the current situation in the country.
